Shengye Public Welfare Foundation launched a donation activity of "East-West Cooperation to Help Rural Revitalization" in Heshui County, Gansu Province

2024-09-30
Located in the heart of Ziwuling Mountain, Taie Township Central Primary School in Heshui County, Qingyang City, Gansu Province was established in 1957. Currently serving 240 students across 7 classes with 26 boarding students and 28 faculty members, this rural six-year boarding school faces significant challenges due to its remote location and weak infrastructure. The school's computer equipment was severely outdated - its 20 student computers, left behind when the junior high school was merged in 2009, were obsolete and slow, significantly hindering information technology education.

As part of its ongoing "East-West Collaboration to Support Rural Revitalization" initiative, SY Foundation donated 30 new computers worth RMB 120,000 to Taie Township Central Primary School. This contribution aims to address the school's aging IT equipment shortage, making teaching more engaging while helping students broaden their horizons and explore new knowledge, ultimately elevating the school's educational standards.

On September 25, SY Foundation representatives visited the school for the donation ceremony. The event was attended by Ma Qixin, Vice Chairman of Qingyang CPPCC and Chair of Qingyang Democratic League Committee; Chou Pengju, Vice Chairman of Heshui County CPPCC; He Yongjun, Deputy Director of Heshui County United Front Work Department; and Chen Xiaolong, Deputy Director of Heshui County Education Bureau.

School Principal Zhou Defu expressed heartfelt gratitude: "These computers will become new keys for our children to unlock knowledge, building a bridge to the wider world. They not only upgrade our teaching hardware but also provide strong momentum for the children's growth." Ma Qixin remarked: "SY Foundation's support has significantly improved our schools' conditions, laying a solid foundation for children's educational development. We hope more organizations will continue supporting Qingyang's education with quality projects and resources to ensure equitable access to quality education."

During their visit, SY Foundation also conducted research at Ningxian County No.4 Middle School, touring campus facilities and learning about the school's history and development to identify further support opportunities.

This marks the second year of SY Foundation's educational support for rural Qingyang schools. The foundation will continue monitoring school needs and providing necessary hardware improvements to ensure students access better educational resources, contributing to Qingyang's educational development.

SY Foundation, started by SY Holdings (stock code: 6069.HK) and rated as an AAA-level social organization, focuses on supporting vulnerable groups through three key areas: "Caring for Disadvantaged Children," "Youth Development Programs," and "Rural Revitalization Support." By June 30, 2024, the foundation had allocated over RMB 13 million in charitable funds, benefiting more than 11,000 individuals including over 140 children with congenital heart disease.

In recent years, responding to China's rural revitalization strategy, SY Foundation has prioritized rural education through multiple donation projects for under-resourced schools. Moving forward, the foundation remains committed to social responsibility through sustained educational support initiatives that help more children access quality learning resources.
